PEBC Certification Process for US Pharmacy Graduates
There are 2 steps to achieving PEBC pharmacist certification:
STEP 1
US DOCUMENT EVALUATION – You must pass this evaluation of your educational and professional credentials to be eligible to take the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination.
STEP 2
THE PHARMACIST QUALIFYING EXAMINATION, PART I (MCQ) and PART II (OSCE) – When you have passed both Parts of the examination you will be certified and registered with PEBC.
US Document Evaluation Eligibility
PEBC will evaluate your education credentials to ensure they are comparable to a Canadian-accredited pharmacy program. The minimum requirement is a professional undergraduate degree program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).
You must pass document evaluation before you qualify to apply for the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination – Part I (MCQ) and Part II (OSCE).
Lebanese American University Graduates – The Doctor of Pharmacy program from 2002 to the present is an accredited US program. As a result, Doctor of Pharmacy graduates from 2002 to the present must pass US Document Evaluation before attempting the Qualifying Examination.
Pharmacists’ Gateway Canada
All international pharmacy graduates (IPGs) who wish to obtain a licence to practise pharmacy in Canada are required to enroll in the NAPRA Gateway before applying for document evaluation with PEBC.

Please write your National Identifier Number received from NAPRA in the top, right corner of the PEBC Document Evaluation application.
Applying for U.S. Document Evaluation if you have already graduated
You are required to complete all of the application requirements found in the Applying for Document Evaluation section.
Applying for U.S. Document Evaluation if you are still completing your program
In order to apply for the Qualifying Examination as soon after graduation as possible, you can apply for US Document Evaluation during the last 6 months before graduation. It is recommended that you submit the application, fee, identification documents and licensing information to PEBC as early as possible so there is time to apply for the Qualifying Examination once the US Document Evaluation requirements have been met. The instructions for proper submission are on the Applying for Document Evaluation page. Please follow the instructions carefully.
You must also arrange for PEBC to receive the following information regarding your education:

Letter from university/college confirming program completion
- PEBC must receive it no less than five business days prior to the date of the exam, or you will be switched to the next exam
- It must be sent directly from your university/college by mail, email or fax
- It must state that you have completed all degree requirements
- It must include your anticipated graduation date
- Your name must appear exactly as it appears on your identification documents
- Send it as a hard copy or digital document, but do not send both

Final transcript
- PEBC must receive it no less than five business days prior to the release of the exam results or the release of your results will be delayed
- It must be sent directly from your university/college to PEBC
- It must show your graduation date and that your degree has been conferred
- Your name must appear exactly as it appears on your identification documents
- Send it as a hard copy or digital document, but do not send both
