Special Information for the Pharmacist Evaluating Examination January 2022 Evaluating Examination Change to Requirements When the Evaluating Examination applications are made available for the January 2022 sitting, candidates will be required to pass Document Evaluation before they are able to apply for the Evaluating Examination. Please apply for Document Evaluation as early as possible to ensure you do not miss the deadline for the January 2022 Evaluating Examination. More information will be provided when the Winter 2022 application is made available in spring 2021. This change does not apply to the July 2021 Evaluating Examination. |
Application Procedure
IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR DOCUMENT EVALUATION AND THE EVALUATING EXAMINATION AT THE SAME TIME: You will need to apply for Document Evaluation and then wait up to five business days for PEBC to email your PEBC ID number to you. Once you have your PEBC ID number you can apply for the Evaluating Examination online and submit the hard copies of the applications together in the same envelope. If you apply for the Evaluating Examination before your Document Evaluation has been completed, all documents for Document Evaluation and the Evaluating Examination must be correctly submitted and received by PEBC by the application deadline of the exam you wish to write. If all documents are not received by the deadline, your Evaluating Examination application fee will be applied to the following exam.
You must apply online. Please note that you must still print off your completed online application and submit your application, along with the checklist and required documentation, to arrive to the PEBC office by the application deadline date. The online application is only available until 12 noon (Eastern time) on the application deadline date. If you complete an application online but do not send the printed form to PEBC, you will be charged an administrative fee, and your application will not be processed and will be treated as a withdrawal.
Note: If you have funds on account with PEBC, you cannot apply online and you will need to request an application form by emailing pebcinfo@pebc.ca and complete it manually. There are English and French versions of the application forms. Please request the correct version, choosing the same language in which you wish to take the exam. The checklist on page two of the application form must also be completed and signed before the application form is sent to PEBC.
If you are applying for the Evaluating Examination after withdrawing previously, or because you did not pass your previous attempt, you need only submit a new Evaluating Examination application and fee, if it is less than five years from the date on your Document Evaluation results letter.
Please note that application forms cannot be delivered in person to the PEBC office.
Please keep us informed of any changes to your contact information (address, telephone number, email address), by emailing the new information to pebcinfo@pebc.ca.
PEBC will primarily communicate by email. Be sure to check your email regularly and make sure your email settings will allow PEBC emails to reach your inbox.

Remote Proctoring
Remote proctoring is being offered for the June 2021 Evaluating Examination. PEBC introduced remote proctoring during the global pandemic to allow candidates to test safely and within the timeline they planned. As the pandemic persists, test centre seats will continue to be limited and subject to cancellation at any time leading up to the exam. PEBC strongly encourages all candidates to prepare the requirements to take the exam by remote proctoring. Remote proctoring may be the only option to test. If you are unable to schedule in a test centre, or your test centre appointment is cancelled due to public health restrictions, and you do not elect to test by remote proctoring, your application and fee will not be moved to the next session and you will need to withdraw from the exam. Standard PEBC Refund Policies will apply.
To prepare for remote proctoring, please see Remote Proctoring information. Candidates who apply for the June 2021 Evaluating Examination will also be invited to try the optional Remote Proctoring Demo Exam to try their at home set-up before the actual exam. The Remote Proctoring Demo Exam fee is $39 plus tax, paid to Prometric.
Candidates are required to have completed Pharmacist Document Evaluation to receive an Invitation to Schedule and to be eligible to take the Evaluating Examination.
Exam Location Selection
Candidates can choose to take the exam at a Prometric test centre or at home by remote proctoring, when they schedule their exam with Prometric, after receiving an Invitation to Schedule.
On the application form, please choose the preferred exam location (city) for a test centre even if you are intending to schedule for remote proctoring.
Invitation to Schedule
Candidates will schedule their Evaluating Examination, on their own, with Prometric, when they have received an Invitation to Schedule, no later than 6 weeks before the exam. The Invitations to Schedule are emailed by first come, first served, based on the date PEBC receives the Evaluating Examination application.
Candidates are required to have completed Pharmacist Document Evaluation to receive an Invitation to Schedule and to be eligible to take the Evaluating Examination.
Note: The Board reserves the right to cancel the exam at any of the stated locations if there are not enough applicants for that location or for other reasons. |
It is recommended that you NOT make your travel arrangements more than one month in advance of the exam date.
Changing Examination Centres
To reschedule your exam appointment within the exam window, you must do so on Prometric’s website and pay the required fee.
You may change your appointment (e.g., change the time of your appointment for a one-day exam) 3 days or more before your scheduled appointment. You may not change your appointment 2 days or less from your scheduled appointment.
French Examination
The Pharmacist Evaluating Examination is available in both official languages: French and English. You must indicate on your application in which language you wish to take the exam and are then required to complete the exam in that language. Note that the Evaluating Examination is no longer a bilingual exam.
