PEBC is pleased to announce Linear-on-the-Fly Testing (LOFT) beginning with the October/November 2023 Pharmacist Qualifying Examination Part I (MCQ).
LOFT provides a unique exam for each candidate that is created automatically, meeting specific requirements, to serve as a valid and reliable assessment.
Delivering a unique exam for each candidate allows PEBC to ensure candidate performance is based on competence by reducing the potential impact of candidates sharing questions. PEBC invests significant resources in enhancing the quality of the questions so each one represents an important measure in the determination of competence. LOFT allows PEBC to use more of these questions in each exam. LOFT also allows PEBC to increase candidate convenience by holding the exam over multiple days.
The testing time has been increased to 260 minutes, allowing 1.3 minutes per question. To allow for the extra time, the Pharmacist Qualifying Examination no longer includes a tutorial at the beginning of the exam. Instead, candidates should review the interactive demo tutorial on the PEBC website. Note that there is only one testing section, though the tutorial mentions more.
