Admission and Identification (ID)
It is important to read the Candidate Rules of Conduct – Computer-based Examinations and all Candidate Information materials very carefully before the exam. You must bring a piece of government-issued photo ID (i.e., Canadian or foreign passport, Canadian driver’s licence, Canadian health card, Canadian permanent resident card) to the exam. The identification will be checked by exam personnel to verify your identity. You will not be admitted to the exam unless you provide ID and it is a likeness of your current physical appearance. As well, the names on your government-issued photo ID must reasonably correspond. If a female candidate cannot be identified due to a veil covering her face, a female Invigilator will be assigned to take the candidate to a private area where the Invigilator can confirm the candidate’s identity.
For security purposes, you will also be scanned with a metal detector, have your fingerprints and a digital photo taken at check-in. You can watch the ‘What to Expect on Test Day’ video to understand the check-in process.
If you are more than 30 minutes late for your exam appointment, you will not be permitted to write your exam and will not be able to reschedule the exam for another time during that administration.
Examination Centre Conditions/
Environment
PEBC has partnered with Prometric to provide supervised test centres. Although Prometric attempts to ensure the comfort of all candidates and personnel, conditions are sometimes beyond our control (e.g., temperature fluctuations), you are strongly encouraged to dress for fluctuating temperatures in examination rooms.
Notes
- There is no smoking on examination premises.
- Please do not wear scented cosmetics, perfumes or clothing, as some individuals are very sensitive to such substances and you may be refused entry to the examination.

During the Examination
You and other candidates MUST NOT converse or communicate with one another in any manner whatsoever, or speak or read out loud while the examination is underway. Any candidates who violate this rule will forfeit the examination (i.e., they will not receive a result and it will count as an attempt).
If you wish to speak with the Test Center Administrator you must raise your hand and converse in a discrete and confidential manner.
Candidates are expected to behave in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with examination personnel.
At the End of the Examination
When you have completed the exam and are ready to submit it, you will click the “Finish’ button and confirm that it has been completed. If you have not completed the exam during the allotted time, the exam will automatically end and you will be unable to respond to any further questions.
You must check-out from the exam with the Test Center Administrator and return the dry erase board and marker and calculator. You will receive a notice of completion, either a paper copy or via email. You will not receive your results at that time. Afterwards, you must leave the examination premises immediately. You must make all arrangements for transportation before entering the examination site and you must wait outside the building for friends or transportation.
