In preparation for the upcoming computer-based examinations, please review the following notices.
- Candidate Information
PEBC has updated the Candidate Information and Rules of Conduct documents. Review Upcoming Exam Information prior to your examination.
- Policy Changes Regarding Physical Calculators & Paper / Pencil for the ExaminationsOnscreen Calculator Only – Test Centres and Remote Proctoring
For PEBC computer-based multiple-choice examinations taken both on-site at a Prometric test centre and using remote proctoring, physical, hand-held calculators are now prohibited. Test centres will not provide calculators to candidates and candidates are not allowed to bring their own. On the testing platform, use the onscreen scientific calculator for calculations. Practice using the calculator in the demo tutorial from the PEBC website or your computer’s calculator application to get more comfortable with the onscreen calculator.Paper and Pencil / Dry Erase Boards
For taking notes while writing the calculations, PEBC has made a few recent changes.Candidates testing at the test centres will receive paper and pencil to use during the examination. For candidates testing at home using remote proctoring, PEBC will permit candidates to use a ‘dry erase board’ and erasable marker to take notes. At the end of the examination, candidates must clean their board and show it to the Proctor before ending their examination. Paper and pencil are not permitted for candidates testing at home using remote proctoring. Candidates will also have a virtual, onscreen notepad (‘scratchpad’) to use throughout the examination. See the Candidate Information – Computer-based Examinations (MCQ) using Remote Proctoring document for more details about the dry erase boards, onscreen scratchpad, permitted and prohibited items.
- Social Distancing Measures and Masks – Test CentresFor PEBC computer-based multiple-choice examinations taken on-site at a Prometric test centre, public health guidelines may require changing or cancelling any of the standard check-in and security processes such as fingerprint scanning or using a metal detector. Candidates must wear the mask at all times while in the test centre. See Prometric’s social distancing guidelines for more information.
